Rollercoaster NetworkingNew Media: The Good, the Bad and the Beautiful “New Media” and Internet-based social networking platforms like Twitter, Facebook and blogs have been a major force in our ability to meet the mission of ensuring “No Soldier Go Unloved.” They have their ups and downs, but the great thing is that we can each use our voices to keep things on the positive and “up” side. Tell a Stranger Tuesday Let’s Zero it Out! Soldiers’ Angels is thrilled beyond words to see how many new Angels are stepping up to adopt as veteran Angels continue to take on adoptions. Just a couple weeks ago we had over 1,000 heroes waiting for adoption and now it’s around 400! If we continue to spread the word and encourage others to stand with us, we could zero it out by the Fourth of July—every hero could have an Angel for the Fourth! [more*]
Band of AngelsChaplain Support Team, Helping Chaplains Help the Troops The Chaplain Support Team (CST) supplies deployed Chaplains with requested items related to their mission, and because chaplains travel throughout the war zone, working with them also helps Soldiers' Angels reach personnel who may be in remote locations, feeling isolated or lonely, and in need of a morale boost. The (CST) provides direct support to the military chaplains of all religious backgrounds as they bring comfort and assistance to all the soldiers they encounter. CST support ranges from letters and gifts that can be easily distributed, to morale items such as food for special group meals, cards for the deployed to send to family members for holidays and birthdays, and games, sports equipment, or books. Dedicated individual CST Angels also sometimes choose to focus on adopting chaplains or soldiers who share their religious background, knowing that having the support of a fellow believer can be a huge encouragement.
I can’t tell you how encouraging it has been to see the warehouse start to fill up again and to watch of the number of heroes waiting for adoption continue to be reduced! With a positive attitude, continuing to use all our resources (media, personal relationships and caring spirits, as well as financial resources) we can continue to make sure every single soldier feels loves and supported so that they can focus on the mission and come home healthy.
Thank you for standing with me! Wingtip to Wingtip,
